Bring An Item From Home

One way to help your dog feel comfortable while staying at the dog kennels is to bring a special item from home for them. This could be their dog bed, their favorite toy, or anything else that they really like and that you think they will appreciate having with them when they are away from home. Having this little piece of home with them will surround them will familiar scents, which is going to be a big deal for your dog because the rest of the scents that they smell are going to be brand new to them. This is going to help their overall comfort levels, and will likely help you feel more confident that they are going to have a good experience when you leave them at the dog kennel. 

Bring More Than One Dog 

If you have more than one dog, it is going to be a good idea to bring both of your dogs to the kennel together, or more if you have them. They can stay in the same area together, eat together, and basically spend as much time together as they would like while they are there. Just as humans like to have friends or family with them when they go somewhere new, your dog will likely want to have another dog with them that they are used to and that, for all intensive purposes, belongs to their family. It will help them feel as if they aren't alone, and will make being separated from you much less difficult for both dogs.
